Spring, Patricia Urquiola's modular sofa, is the third chapter in a design story that began with the Springfield sofa back in 2002. 

The idea for the Springfield sofa went from the concept of solid geometrical shapes - backrests, seating and armrests - to a great basic sofa, comfortable, elegant, with a strong visual impact. 

In 2008, Field revisited the original design, giving it independent modules, more comfortable padded upholstery and an elegant corner stitching detail. 

Now, in 2010, New Spring completes the story. The original balance of the shapes remains, whilst the dimensions are reduced. An accessible sofa, with completely removable covers, and, like its predecessors, the same absolute attention to detail, and high quality of materials. An original solution, ideal for the demands of contemporary living. New Spring uses an innovative new upholstery foam made using new-generation polyols derived from a renewable plant-based source, instead of from petroleum. There is also a natural fibre version of the covering, to guarantee absolute well-being.
