Architect and Designer. Valencia, 1964
Ramón Esteve is Architect and Designer; arising one facet as a consequence of the other. In 1991, he founded Ramón Esteve Estudio with the premise that architecture is a global discipline. His training as an architect became a transversal vision where Architecture and Design form one single concept, almost inseparable, both generated under the same laws and the same design premises. Its aim is the development of complete environments through a mutual interaction between both disciplines, so design acts on architecture and vice versa and the importance and difficulty of both disciplines are equally acknowledged.
His portfolio includes wide expertise in public buildings such as health, educational and cultural facilities; private buildings for public use such as offices, hotels, restaurants, and pieces of ephemeral architecture; and exclusive single-family houses that are true pictures of his philosophy. In the field of product design and art direction, he has worked with recognised firms such as Vondom, Porcelanosa, Inclass, Vibia or Gandia Blasco.
His work has been awarded in the fields of architecture and industrial design. Recently he has achieved the COAV Honourable Mention in Architecture for Cottage in the Vineyard. In 2018, he received the Land Rover Born Award for Bombas Gens, and the International CEMEX Building Award for Cottage in the Vineyard.
He achieved a Honourable Mention in the product design category for the Faz Daybed by Vondom in the Red Dot Awards 2015 and the Best of Year 2015 Award for the Ulm Daybed by Vondom, given by the New York Interior Design magazine. The Tablet collection, designed for Vondom, received the Good Design Award 2018 granted by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The IF Design Awards 2019 honored the Lignage collection for Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms as the Best Bathroom Design.
In 2017 Architonic appointed Ramon Esteve one of the most 100 influential designers in the world, and in 2018 he was included as one of the most 100 Creative People in Bussiness by Forbes.
